Hi, my name is Alex Barnard. I am a senior at Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley High School where I am active in FFA, golf, and serve as the Class of 2026’s president. I’ve always had a passion for agriculture and leadership, which has shaped my involvement both in school and in my community. I’m proud to be an active part of my family’s farming operation, Barnard Farms, where we grow corn and soybeans. In addition to helping on the farm, I own and manage a small herd of Charolais cattle, which has deepened my interest in livestock production and the cattle industry. Outside of school, I’m actively involved in my church, 4-H, and the American International Junior Charolais Association. Whether it’s through public speaking, volunteering, showing cattle, or organizing student events, I strive to lead by example and represent the values I care deeply about. After graduation, I plan to attend a four-year college majoring in agribusiness. My goal is to combine my hands-on experiences on the farm with a strong business education so I can help shape the future of agriculture in whatever role allows me to have the most meaningful impact.
